Toronto Blue Jays vs Los Angeles Angels
Date and Time: Wednesday, August 11,2021 6:38pm
Venue: Angel Stadium of Anaheim, Anaheim, CA
Prediction: Los Angeles Angels
The right-hander has surrendered at least 4 runs in three of his past four starts, and has been crushed by the Jays this season. He’s allowed at least 4 runs in each of their four meetings, and has been taken deep six times.
It’s important to remember that all doubleheaders this season are only 7 inning games, but the Blue Jays offense is more than capable of piling up plenty of runs in a shortened affair. Toronto enters play this weekend first in home runs, slugging and OPS, and has put up at least 7 runs in three of its past four games.
Boston meanwhile, boasts a top-10 offense of its own and can certainly get to Toronto starter Robbie Ray. They roughed him up for 5 runs, including three home runs two weeks ago, and have a better average and OBP versus lefties than righties this season.
The last game on our card features the battle of Los Angeles. The Angels limp into this weekend’s series down three of their top five hitters and have crossed the plate three or fewer times in six of their past eight contests.
Life won’t get any easier on their match, as they all have to deal with 13-game winner Julio Urias. The left-hander has held six of his past seven opponents to 2 runs or less, and is fresh off 5 innings of shutout ball in Arizona. The victory goes to the Los Angeles Angels.
