While the Milwaaukee Bucks bounced back in Game 2 after dropping the series opener to the Boston Celtics, they still lost home-court advantage as a result of Boston stealing a win on the road. The second-round series shifts to Boston for Game 3 with things all tied up at 1-1

Milwaukee Bucks

The Bucks posted the NBA’s best record in the regular season behind the league’s top-ranked defense. Giannis Antetokounmpo was completely shut down in the series opener, only to come back with 29 points on just 16 field-goal attempts and 10 rebounds two nights later.Brook Lopez and Eric Bledsoe proved Tuesday night that they can hit big shots when their backs are against the wall.

Middleton finished with 28 points. Bledsoe, who was held to six points in the series opener, finished with 21 points and five assists. Khriz Middleton made seven of Milwaukee’s franchise playoff-high 20 3-pointers, Brook Lopez and George Hill each finished with 10 points for Milwaukee, which went 20 for 47 from beyond the arc. Pat Connaughton grabbed 11 rebounds to help the Bucks to a 54-45 advantage on the glass and the Bucks even their second-round playoff series against the Boston Celtics with a 123-102 victory Tuesday night. Milwaukee switched on screens more often than usual and held Boston to 39.5% shooting (34 of 86).

The Bucks led by as many as 31 points after a closely played opening half. Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinal series is Friday night in Boston.

Boston Celtics

Boston’s secondary scorers didn’t have much of an impact in Game 2. That’s been a problem all season long. While Jayson Tatum and Gordon Hayward have performed better over the last few weeks, it was their inconsistencies that played a large role in the Celtics falling short of expectations.

Tatum and Hayward shot a combined three-of-15 in Game 2. Lopez and Bledsoe were two-of-10 in the opener.

Marcus Morris led the team with 17 points on six of eight shooting, Jaylen Brown added 16 points while Al Horford had 15 points with eight rebounds. Kyrie Irving shot just four of 18 to finish with nine points as the Celtics shot 39 percent from the field and 10 of 28 from the 3-point line as a team.

The Bucks showed that the Celtics game plan this series is not going to work for the entire series. And they made adjustments from Game 1. The Celtics absolutely need to win Game 3 in Boston to have a chance. The Bucks are a well-oiled machine and are arguably playing the best basketball in the NBA right now. They showed that in Game 2. They flexed their muscle and showed Boston that they are a formidable opponent. Look for the Celtics and Kyrie Irving to respond in Game 3. This series is definitely just heating up.

Betting Knowledge:

ATS- Against The Spread

Betting against the spread is a good betting strategy when the point spread is low, or the bettor believes the team they are betting on can beat their opponent by at least the point spread advertised. If the bettor believes the team will win big, betting against the spread will result in a huge payout. An example of betting against the spread would be if a wager that the Boston Celtics (-7) would beat the Indiana Pacers (+7). That means the Celtics would have to win by more than 7 points for the individual to win his bet.
